How We Picked
We looked for tools that cost under $100 on the maker’s own page, then compared what the makers list: motor, power source, guides in the box and warranty. We did not test these, so there are no hands-on claims here. When a maker says a motor is quiet or a blade stays cool, we say it is the maker saying it.

1. Wahl Sure Cut: the cheapest way in
The Sure Cut is the one to buy if you only want to see whether home cutting is for you. Wahl lists a taper lever, eight guide combs (No. 1 to 6, up to 3/4 inch) and self-sharpening blades, and it comes with a pocket comb, styling comb, scissors, brush, oil and a soft case. Wahl lists a 3 year warranty. It is corded and it stops at a No. 6 guide, which is fine for most home cuts since you usually go shorter than that.
Maker price: $24.99 (October 13, 2026). See our Elite Pro vs Color Pro guide if you are weighing it against the next step up.
Pick this if…
You only want to see whether home cutting is for you. Wahl lists a taper lever, eight guide combs and self-sharpening blades.
2. Wahl Elite Pro: the corded value pick
This is the step up most people end up buying. Wahl lists self-sharpening blades, a “powerful, quiet motor”, guide combs from 1/2 and 1 through 8 (including 1-1/2), ear taper guards, scissors, a brush, oil and a storage case. The warranty is limited lifetime on the clipper and five years on the blades. It is corded, so it suits a home chair, not a busy shop.
Maker price: $69.99 (October 13, 2026). Our home clipper guide covers where it fits.
3. Wahl Cordless Color Pro: no cord to fight
If the cord drives you nuts, this is the cordless version of the same idea. Wahl lists a 2 hour run time, a 15 minute quick charge, color-coded snap-on guards and guide combs from 1/2 to 8, with a 5 year warranty. That is plenty for a home haircut, and the color coding makes guard sizes easy to read at a glance.
Maker price: $78.99 (October 13, 2026).
Pick this if…
The cord drives you nuts. Wahl lists a 2 hour run time, a 15 minute quick charge and a 5 year warranty.
4. Suprent Mecha: more spec for the money
The Mecha is the one with the spec sheet. Suprent lists a 7,800 RPM brushless motor, a DLC blade it describes as rust-free and cool-running, a zero-gap capable cutter and up to 3 hours of cordless runtime. It ships with eight guard combs and a charging stand. Suprent is a smaller name than Wahl and we found less owner discussion, so read a few owner reports first. Warranty is 1 year.
Maker price: $59.99 sale, $99.99 regular (October 13, 2026). Sale prices end, so check which one you are looking at.
Good to know
There is less owner history behind the Mecha than behind the Wahl clippers in this guide.
5. StyleCraft Uno 2.0: a small shaver for edges
The Uno 2.0 is a pocket-size single foil shaver. StyleCraft lists a turbocharged motor up to 9,000 RPM, thin gold titanium foil it says is gentle on sensitive skin, and a lithium-ion battery it says gives twice the standard runtime. The small head is handy behind the ears and around the hairline. StyleCraft says it is for short or previously cut hair only, so use it after a clipper, not instead of one.
Maker price: $59.95 (October 13, 2026).
Which One Should You Buy?
- Just trying it out: the Sure Cut.
- Cutting at home every month or two: the Elite Pro.
- No cord, same idea: the Cordless Color Pro.
- Want a higher-spec cordless clipper: the Mecha, knowing there is less owner history behind it.
- Need clean edges: add the Uno 2.0 to any of them.
