An all-in-one trimmer is the grooming gift that covers the most ground: beard, neckline, ears, nose and, on some kits, body hair. Two current options from well-known makers are the Braun All-in-One Series 7 7440 and the Wahl Aqua Blade Deluxe 09899. They sit at different price points and take different approaches. We compare them using the makers’ published specs, and also explains why Philips’ older Multigroom 7000 kits are not on our list.

Spec sources: the Braun AIO7440 product page and the Wahl Aqua Blade Deluxe 09899 page. These are the makers’ own figures and the product options can change. The Braun page showed two available options, so check which kit you are ordering.

Braun All-in-One Series 7 7440

Braun’s all-in-one is the more complete kit. It includes a metal trimmer head, a body groomer head, a detail trimmer head, an ear and nose trimmer head, a sliding beard comb for 3 to 11 mm, a sliding hair comb for 13 to 21 mm, fixed 1 mm and 2 mm combs, a sensitive comb, an eyebrow comb, a Gillette ProGlide razor and cartridge, a cleaning brush, a charging stand and a pouch, according to Braun’s FAQ.

The headline feature is the Precision Wheel. Braun says it gives 40 length settings in 0.02 inch steps, and a ProLock keeps the chosen setting in place. The kit also uses Braun’s AutoSense technology, which the maker says adjusts to hair density. Braun lists a lithium-ion battery with up to 100 minutes of cordless runtime and says the trimmer is waterproof and washable under running water.

  • Good for: men who want one tool for beard, haircut touch-ups and body grooming.
  • Think twice if: the person only needs a beard trimmer. A smaller kit costs less and has less to clean.

Wahl Aqua Blade Deluxe 09899

Wahl’s kit is simpler. The product page lists the trimmer with an Extreme Precision blade, an ear and nose trimmer attachment, a detail blade attachment, a beard comb, eight numbered guides from 1/16 inch to 1/2 inch, and a 10-position guide covering 2 mm to 11 mm. The box also includes blade oil, a cleaning brush, a soft travel case and a worldwide charger. Wahl lists a 5-year warranty and says the trimmer is assembled in the USA.

The Wahl is described as waterproof and usable in the shower, which makes cleanup easy. Wahl also notes that the guide comb and head attachments are easy to swap. At $69.99 on the maker’s store when we checked, it is a lower-risk gift if you do not know whether the person will use all the attachments. See our beard trimmer guide if you want other budget options.

Pro tip

Wahl’s page lists the trimmer model as 9899L. If you are comparing retail listings, check the model number, because kits with similar names can include different attachments.

Why Philips Is Not on the List

Philips Norelco’s Multigroom and All-in-One Series 7000 kits show up in a lot of gift guides. When we looked at the Philips US pages for the MG7750 and MG7910 on October 13, 2026, both were marked Discontinued. They may still be sold by some retailers, and Philips’s own pages still carry buyer reviews, but a discontinued kit can mean harder-to-find replacement parts. We would rather point you to models that are listed as current.

If you find one at a good price, check the Philips pages, such as the MG7910 listing, for the current status and the exact accessory list. Philips lists 19 pieces and length settings from 0.5 to 16 mm for that kit. We do not recommend buying a discontinued kit as a Christmas gift without checking that you can get blades and guards later.

Which Is Better for You?

If you want Pick
The most settings and attachments Braun AIO7440
A lower list price with a 5-year warranty Wahl Aqua Blade Deluxe
Shower use for cleanup Either, both are listed as waterproof
A body groomer head included Braun AIO7440
A travel-friendly kit Wahl, with its soft travel case and worldwide charger

If he already owns a good beard trimmer, an all-in-one kit may be redundant. A better gift might be a body groomer or a nose and ear trimmer. See our guides to body groomers and nose and ear trimmers.

Gift Buying Checklist

  • Check the exact kit name and model number, because the same brand sells several bundles.
  • Look at the return window, since trimmers are personal items.
  • Add a spare blade oil or cleaning brush if the kit does not include one.
  • Charge it before wrapping if you can, so the recipient can use it on the day.
  • Compare the maker’s price with the retailer’s price near Black Friday, since discounts move.

A trimmer is most useful when the person actually grooms at home. If he goes to a barber every two weeks, ask what he wants touched up between visits before you buy a whole kit.

How We Researched This
